Basavatarakam Hospital and Smile Train Center Organizes Free Cleft Lip & Palate Screening Camps

Basavatarakam Smile Training Centre (BSTC) organized cleft lip & palate (Grahanam Morri) screening camp in Telangana at various cities: Khammam on 17th February 2020, Bhadrachalam on 18th February 2020 and Sangareddy on 27th February 2020, respectively. The camps were organized under the expert guidance of Dr. R. Mukunda Reddy, Plastic Surgeon. The Khammam camp saw 33 screenings on the day which in turn resulted in 29 cases for further treatment in our hospital. The Bhadrachalam camp saw 56 screenings on the day which in turn resulted in 42 cases for further treatment. The Sangareddy camp saw 46 screenings on the day which in turn resulted in 39 cases of further treatment. 

The information regarding the camps was disseminated through social media, pamphlets, presence around important areas of the towns like bus stations, Govt. hospitals, etc. & mobilization through local self-help groups. Encouraged by the response, more such camps in the coming future are planned.
